We have reached the final brake run. It's a wrap for Coastershop: Lift-Drop-Shop.

In 2001 four roller coaster enthusiasts set out to produce the video "European Coaster Thrills", which at the time was still being released on VHS tape first, before moving over to DVD. It was because of this video, that three of the producers decided to create an online shop which was aimed at making it easier to sell the video to a wider audience. Little did we know at the time, how many more products the shop would offer, just a few years later. So it happened that Coastershop became the first and exclusive reseller in Europe for Coasterdynamix. Their roller coaster model kits in 1:48 scale -"Dragon" and "Scorpion"- quickly became the highlight of the product portfolio.

Michael Badelt and Christian Ahuis, the current owners of Coastershop would like to say THANK YOU for 17 amazing years, many loyal customers, thousands of order and an item return rate so low, Amazon and other online retailers would probably be quite envious of.

We sincerely hope our customers will find another place on the internet where they can get products like Merchandise from Vekoma, Huss, Intamin, Gerstlauer, Mack Rides and so on in the future.

Today not just marks the end of an online shop for themepark and rollercoaster enthusiasts, it also marks the end of a chapter in our lives. For a few years now, we have both already moved on to new endeavours within the community and industry. So, one thing is certain, we're not going anywhere.


But for now, it's Thank You, Good Bye and see you soon at a themepark somewhere around the globe.

Wir haben die Schlussbremse erreicht. Das war's von Coastershop: Lift-Drop-Shop.

Der Film "European Coaster Thrills", der von vier begeisterten Achterbahnfans im Jahr 2001 zunächst als VHS und dann als DVD produziert wurde, war der Grundstein für den Coastershop. Drei der vier Produzenten haben sich damals zusammen geschlossen, um mit dem Coastershop eine Verkaufsplattform für den Film zu schaffen, die bald weit mehr Produkte für Achterbahn- und Freizeitparkfans bieten sollte als zunächst geplant. So folgten bald die lange Zeit wichtigsten Produkte im Portfolio: Die funktionsfähigen Achterbahnen im Maßstab 1:48 „Dragon" bzw. „Scorpion", die Coastershop als erster und exklusiver europäischer Vertriebspartner von Coasterdynamix in Europa anbieten konnte.

Michael Badelt und Christian Ahuis, die heutigen Inhaber von Coastershop.de, sagen Danke für über 17 spannende Jahre mit vielen Stammkunden, tausenden Bestellungen und einer so geringen Retourenquote, dass Amazon, Zalando und Co neidisch sein dürften.

Wir wünschen allen Kunden, dass sie in Zukunft andere Quellen finden mögen, bei denen es Dinge wie Merchandise von Vekoma, Huss, Intamin, Gerstlauer, Mack Rides und Co geben wird.

Nach diesem Tag endet nicht nur ein Onlineshop für Freizeitpark- und Achterbahnfans, sondern auch ein Kapitel in unserem Leben. Wir haben beide schon seit einigen Jahren neue Kapitel aufgeschlagen und werden der Freizeitparkbranche in jedem Fall erhalten bleiben.
